I am a Barry girl through and through, having been brought up in the town and worked there all my life. Although I am well-travelled, I love home and never want to be far away from the sea.

For 20 years I ran my own sign making business, working on all sorts of projects, including some for prestigious events such as the National Eisteddfod, Urdd Eisteddfod and Royal Welsh Show.

Having always been passionate about house renovation and self-build, with numerous home renovations and three self-build homes under my belt, a move into mortgages seemed a good step when it was time for a change of career.  I started working with Mike Underdown in 2016 and have since gained my CeMAP qualification.  I have also now studied for and gained the Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER) qualification and specialise in advising clients on equity release.

Sport has always been a huge part of my life as I have played hockey since I was 12 years old.  I currently play league hockey for premier ladies’ club Howardians, and represent Wales in Masters events. I was lucky enough to have played in the World Cup in Barcelona in the summer of 2018, when we finished sixth.  My two children are, perhaps unsurprisingly, also involved in and excelling at sports, one in hockey and the other in football.

When not playing hockey, I can often be found enjoying a round on the golf course. I have been club champion at Brynhill Golf Club numerous times and was honoured to serve as Ladies Captain in 2018.  Giving something back to the community is important to me and I have been a Magistrate in Cardiff since 2007, something which I find very satisfying.

To sum me up, I am passionate about my family, football, hockey, golf, helicopters and waterfalls, although maybe not in that order!
